How it works

From first call to finished job

  1. Step 1

    Tell us about your project

Fence type, rough length and height, the gates you need and your address. A photo or a quick sketch of the yard helps.

  2. Step 2

    Measure and plan

The fence line is measured and walked with you: corners, gates, slopes, trees and anything in the way, plus property lines and city or HOA rules.

  3. Step 3

    A clear quote

You get a quote that spells out the materials, height, length, gates and how the posts will be set, so it's easy to compare.

  4. Step 4

    Installation

Underground lines are marked through 811 before digging, then posts are set and panels, rails and gates go up. The site is cleaned up when the work is done.

What's included

Fence Repair: what we handle

  • Leaning fences: Rotted or loose posts replaced or reset so the fence stands straight again.
  • Broken boards and pickets: Damaged boards, pickets and rails replaced to match the rest of the fence as closely as possible.
  • Storm damage: Sections knocked down by wind or falling limbs rebuilt.
  • Gate fixes: Sagging or dragging gates re-hung and re-braced, with new hinges and latches where needed.
  • Vinyl and chain link: Cracked vinyl panels and rails swapped out; bent rails and loose chain link replaced or re-tensioned.
  • Repair or replace: When most posts are failing, a new fence often costs less over time than repairing it section after section.

“I LOVE my new fence from anvil. It is gorgeous and so functional. I get so many compliments on it. Luke was easy to work with, quick to respond and fix anything that needed to be fixed, I could fully trust him to do things well. And Jose and the fence builders did an excellent job with the fence. 5 stars!”

“I had an excellent experience with Anvil Fence Company installing my cedar fence. From the initial estimate to the final installation, the team was professional, knowledgeable, and easy to work with. Tracey was great she kept me informed and answered all of my questions throughout the process, and was great to work with through throughout the process. Jason completed the pre-install visit and answered the technical questions I had on the process and made sure that everything was prepared for the install process. The quality of the cedar fence exceeded my expectations. (…)”

Dave Shade

“Fence crew is very efficient, offering options how to align sections over uneven terrain in the Boise foothills. Removed old post&pole quickly. Installed 200+ feet of black iron fence in a day and a half. Looks great! The guys were pleasant and easy to work with. I’m happy to recommend Anvil for any future fence Needs!”

FAQ

Fence Repair: common questions

Can a leaning fence be fixed without replacing it?

Usually. If the lean comes from one or two failed posts, those posts are replaced or reset and the panels re-attached. If most posts are rotted at the ground, the fence will keep leaning in new places and a replacement is the better investment.

Will the repaired section match the old fence?

New boards are matched as closely as possible in size and style, but new wood is lighter than weathered wood. It blends in over a season or two, or the whole fence can be stained to even out the color.

How can I tell if a fence post is rotted?

Push on the fence next to the post: if it moves at the base, the post is likely rotted or loose at the ground line. Probe the wood just below the soil with a screwdriver; if it's soft or crumbly, the post needs replacing.
